I understand that Norm does not provide actual pruning or removal services. Why is that important to me?
Unfortunately tree work in Florida is largely unregulated and the majority of tree service companies lack proper training. As a result there are some tree services that will “assess” your trees for free in order to sell you services you may not need, like removals or unnecessary pruning. Urban Forestry Consulting, PA does not offer these services; Norm will simply give you his assessment and has no need to sell you anything. This eliminates the pressure that may lead to paying for unnecessary services.

How do I schedule a visit to discuss my tree(s)?
Throughout Florida, and beyond, Norm visits each site himself to review and assess your particular situation. Call or email Urban Forestry Consulting, PA to discuss your concerns and then schedule a visit.

What will a site visit cost?
Our rates are reasonable and Norm is very efficient. The total cost will depend on your individual situation and your location and will be based on the time needed to visit your property, address your concerns and make recommendations. Some consultations are completed with one site visit, others may require a written report (often needed for permitting or for HOA concerns). Some clients may ask Norm for further guidance, like overseeing tree protection during construction projects. Sometimes Norm will recommend future inspections for safety purposes.

Can Norm give me suggestions on how to properly hire a commercial tree service, if he does recommend removal or pruning?
Yes, Norm will provide tips on hiring a company with an ISA Certified Arborist who can perform work following the ANSI standards and Best Management Practices. We maintain no financial relationships with any of the companies we recommend.

We are interested in having Norm speak at an event, provide on-site training with our grounds staff or teach a TRAQ course. Does he offer these services?
Norm frequently teaches arboriculture to arborists on numerous tree-related topics like soil assessment, proper arboricultural techniques and Tree Risk Assessment.
